The NUMO New Mobility Atlas is an extensive, data-driven platform mapping the rapid proliferation of new mobility, including micromobility, in cities around the world.
Developed in partnership with organizations from the public and private sectors, the Atlas uses open data to track which shared transportation options — currently dockless scooters, bicycles and mopeds — are available in cities.
Covering 626 cities, 53 countries, and 127 mobility service operators, the New Mobility Atlas offers powerful insights into deployment and adoption of new modes as well as key market players.
Most importantly, all of the data are open source and available to download. Along with constantly improving the Atlas, NUMO will be working together with our partners to update, collect and ensure the accuracy of data.
Future versions of the Atlas will include autonomous vehicles and drones as well as a policy database (coming spring 2020) that will allow users to compare new mobility regulations by city. NUMO has partnered with the Shared-Use Mobility Center and WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities to create the policy database, which will help to contextualize the role of regulation in the deployment, adoption, success and evolution of new mobility in cities.
