The latest version of the Build Back Better Act includes provisions aimed at decarbonizing the transportation sector, including an electric vehicle tax incentive. But to hit our decarbonization target, we must remain focused on reducing how much we drive.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act represents an historic level of investment in U.S. infrastructure, but to meet the urgent needs of this moment and ensure a shift toward a more equitable, sustainable transportation system, Congress must also pass the Build Back Better Act with key transportation programs.
To ensure all of the American people experience the benefits of a sustainable, equitably accessible transportation system, Congress must tie federal investments in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to climate, racial justice and an inclusive economic recovery through updated performance measures.
